Principal's Message

Dear Greater New York Academy Family,

I am honored to have been selected as principal of Greater New York Academy, which is known far and wide for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly to children. Over the past 24years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.

As an administrator I bring personal integrity, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, consumed by everything that is excellent and I’m passionate about everything I do. My actions will serve as an example for others and will be based on equity and justice. I will definitely be a man of my word and will treat people fairly and show respect for diversity and the rights of the individual. I will surround myself with individuals who share my vision, and trust them to make sound decisions.

Greater New York Academy is a place where the home, school and church work as co-owners to improve every aspect of the learning environment. The school and church along with society’s educational agencies, build on and supplement the work of the home. I believe that students require an educational paradigm that is based on extensive research and sound learning theories. As an administrator, I will work collaboratively with all stakeholders of the learning community, to create a school that meets the needs of students in the twenty-first century. I will provide the necessary tools and resources for teachers so they can excel in the classroom, to foster levels of mastery for improved student learning. It will be a place of shared values, where everyone has a vested interest and a sense of belonging.
