Mr. Jacques Patterson

My name is Jacques M. Patterson and for the last twenty (20) years I have served as the Science Department chairperson at Greater New York Academy, in Woodside, Queens. In addition to my duties as chairperson, I teach ninth, tenth, and twelfth graders; Regents Earth Science, Honors Biology, and AP Biology respectively. I also served as co-sponsor of the junior class and the Science club. This year I’m teaching the same subjects and have the additional responsibility of being the National Honor Society Advisor. In 1994, I received a M.S. in Biology (emphasis in molecular biology) from St. John's University. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
